An eccentric Mexican drug cartel leader has aspirations to become the world foosball champion, but given his violent reputation, will never be allowed to compete or host the championships. Nick Ripley, a down-on-his-luck journalist, offers to write his autobiography—a sob story to help him gain some sympathy —for 10 million dollars. He accepts, but pays up with a truckload of pot instead of cash. Saddled with this burdensome prize, Nick and his sticky-fingered fixer, Manu Paulo, must find a way to smuggle their truckload of contraband across the border to reap their payday. Further complicating matters, Manu liberated the cartel leader’s prized pet emu, Idiota, before their departure. Now, the man wants their heads—and his bird back.
