Lincoln’s Hat and the TEA Movement’s Anger

A well-known journalist who hates Abraham Lincoln fails to assassinate him, instead merely shooting his stovepipe hat off.
Inside the hat he finds a letter congratulating the President on his re-election, signed by Karl Marx on behalf of the Working Man’s Association of Europe (a true historical document).
The President has stored it there as he does many documents he is working on or has not yet read.
The Journalist then tries to ruin Lincoln in the press with this letter, and through an organization called “The Enlightened Association” (TEA), by describing him as a socialist who has used the Civil War to start a war between the classes.
But there are unexpected results…
