Straight Shotby Jack LivelyKeeler arrives in Alencourt, France, where his mother spent her summers as a kid. Maybe he’ll meet a relative, or someone who knew his mom. It doesn’t work out like that, he’s in town for less than an hour and three men try to kill him. Keeler’s not bothered by the attack he’s interested in his mom’s cousin Simone, taking care of her husband Gilles, who hasn’t recovered from being attacked by local delinquents. A sad story, but not Keeler’s business. He could walk away, get back on the train. But he’s drawn him back in. Perhaps it’s the pretty French policewoman, who informs Keeler that the attack on him was a case of mistaken identity. Or maybe it’s the connection Keeler finds between these attacks and reports of asylum seeking girls going missing in the area. Whatever the reason, Tom Keeler becomes interested, which isn’t great news for the bad people preying on the weak and defenseless.
