But before Tay can really get the investigation started, everybody seems to want a piece of it. The FBI demands to take over the case, the American Diplomatic Security Service insists on being in charge, Singapore’s Internal Security Department announces it’s going to have a major say, Bangkok’s Special Branch says it won’t be ignored, and even a couple of American ambassadors stick their noses right into the middle of everything.

That’s a lot of people walking all over Tay’s murder case. But here’s the thing. He can see that none of them, not a single one, actually want him to find the killer.
