by Nancy Stancill

Before long, Annie must grapple with two murders, political shenanigans and a love triangle that will test the limits of her ethics and her heart. Will she be able to get the story before her struggling newspaper implodes or her ruthless enemies get her?

Shelter from the Storm

by Tony Dunbar

To out-of-town kingpin Willie LaRue, Mardi Gras seems the perfect time for a New Orleans heist – nobody, but nobody will be thinking about a single other thing. Indeed, all might have gone well except for an out-of-season frog-flogger that threatens to flood the French Quarter – something even Hurricane Katrina couldn’t do.

Deadly Strain

by Julie Rowe

Major Grace Samuels, a trauma surgeon deployed to Afghanistan, spends her life helping her fellow soldiers overcome disease and combat injuries. But her own wounds are harder to heal. Wracked with guilt over the death of a fellow soldier, she finds comfort in her only friend and appointed bodyguard, weapons sergeant Jacob “Sharp” Foster.

Sharp feels more for Grace than a soldier should, more than he wants to admit. When the team discovers a new, quick-to-kill strain of anthrax, he tries to focus on the mission to find its source. He knows he can help Grace defeat her demons, but first they must defeat the deadly outbreak.

Sharp is Grace’s most loyal ally, but in close quarters, he starts to feel like more. She can’t watch someone else she cares about die—but she might not have a choice. The closer they get to finding the source of the strain, the closer it gets to finding them.

Zodiac the Killer Cop

by D.M. Rasey

Serial killers were, are, and always will be what is inherently programmed in their DNA. For a while, that genetic predisposition to kill may lay dormant or be masked by some socially acceptable or even commendable profession – a teacher, lawyer, cop, mailman, etc. – but, ultimately, it’s the desire to kill that prevails.

Unlike the Hollywoodian stereotypical figure of a desperately awkward sociopath lurking in the shadows, most serial killers are on the surface as ordinary as you and me. They work, socialize, and live their lives in a mundane, traditional manner. However, what is not normal in them is their desire to cause pain, enjoy torturing, disfiguring, and eventually murdering their victims. They are sly, lethal animals who will rule deadly tumult upon anybody unfortunate enough to cross their paths, and they do it unnoticed. They are the hunters in our midst, murdering without regret, compassion, or blame. They are the monsters we are cautioned about as children, and they are out there ready to pounce.

The Zodiac Killer was one such monster. Undetected, sometimes protected, but ultimately undiscovered by the law… until now.
